Description
Clomid (aka Clomiphene citrate) is a powerful selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It has wide range of applications in medical practice, from curing infertility to treatment of estrogen dependent cancers.
In sports pharmacology it found its place as an effective medication for fighting estrogen related side effect (e.g. gynecomastia and water retention). And also, as a component of PCT for rehabilitation of endogenous testosterone production after steroid cycles.
How Clomid works
By blocking estrogen receptors in tissues, Clomid prevents them from the estrogen effects. We have to remind that it does not interfere the process of estrogen formation, but only blocks the receptors. Therefore, those athletes who use easily aromatizable steroids should take aromatase inhibitors (e.g. Anastrozol) during steroid cycle.
Clomid also stimulates pituitary to release additional FSH and LH. These two hormones are necessary for the endogenous testosterone production. Thus, it is suitable drug for restarting hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis (HPTA), when it is suppressed by steroid usage.
How to take Clomid?
The dosage of Clomiphene citrate depends on your steroid cycle. The more powerful your steroid, and the higher the doses, the longer you need to take Clomid. In general, the scheme is the following:
- Very heavy cycle – 3 days * 150 mg/day, 12 days * 100 mg/day, 15 days * 50 mg /day, 15 days * 25mg/day
- Heavy cycle – 15 days * 100mg/day, 15 days * 50 mg/day, 15 days * 25 mg/day
- Moderate cycle 30 days* 50 mg/day, 15 days * 25mg/day
- Easy cycle 15 days * 50 mg/day, 15 days * 25 mg/day, 15 day * 25 mg/day (every 2 days)
- Very easy cycle 15 days * 50mg/day, 15 days * 25 mg/day
For better results take Clomid at the same time of a day. Take it with plenty of water (not juice or sparkling water).
Although some women take Clomid to stimulate ovulation, treat infertility or lose weight, females should take it with care.
