Aromasin (Exemestane) is an aromatase inhibitor of third generation. Aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone into estradiol (estrogen). The major application of Aromasin, as well as other aromatase inhibitors, is the treatment of estrogen dependent cancers in women. However, it gained popularity among bodybuilders, due to prevention of estrogen related side effects.

Many anabolics are prone to aromatization (conversion of androgens into estrogens), therefore they can increase the levels of estrogen and cause gynecomastia and water retention. How Exemestane works

How to use Aromasin

In case of treatment of estrogen dependent cancers, the usual dosage of Aromasin is 25 mg per day, until cancer remission comes. Usually, the treatment is followed by the usage of Nolvadex in order to prevent the return of cancer.

For bodybuilding purposes, the usual dosage of Exemestane is 12.5-25 mg every other day. Some bodybuilders take 25 mg/day before competitions. However, this dose is very high. In this case, you should control the levels of cholesterol and the period of Aromasin usage should not exceed 2 weeks.
